Large language models (LLMs) are a powerful predictive technology increasingly capable of inference and mirroring which gives one the impression that it understands you. It does not because it is not human and is incapable of that unique human capacity of empathy.
At this time AI is being incorporated into all our devices, apps and algorythms and it is not clear where and how personal data is being captured, stored and handled. Therefore to ensure that our therapeutic space and all that we discuss remains private and confidential, my office, our meeting space, will remain AI-free meaning no devices are to be brought into it.
This being said, there are situations and circumstances where AI can be a resource or even a force-multiplier between sessions therefore if warranted, can be used if it serves you productively in achieving your therapeutic goals.
